April 25, 2011 – Philadelphia-based cleantech investment firm Element Partners announced today that former Governor Edward G. Rendell is joining Element’s team of senior business and policy advisors as an Operating Partner. With Element, Rendell will continue his outstanding leadership in clean energy and environmental stewardship as he advises the firm on its investment strategy and works with the variety of cleantech companies in Element’s portfolio.

A longtime proponent of clean energy and "green economic growth", Rendell recently left Harrisburg after two successful terms as Governor of Pennsylvania and as a nationally recognized leader on the national stage as Chairman of the National Governors Association and the Democratic National Committee. Under his leadership, Pennsylvania rose to be ranked third in the nation for green job creation and one of the top five states generating solar power.
